Kungl. Vitterhetsakademin

Publications

Vitterhetsakademien has a broad range of academic publications in the humanities and social sciences, and publishes new research for an interested public and the wider academic community.

Since 1789, Vitterhetsakademien has published extensively in its fields of interest, initially with an emphasis on antiquarian research. It now has a broad range of academic publications, which includes monographs, edited volumes, and several book series in the humanities, social sciences, and cultural heritage management. As far as possible all publications are made available online with open access. Vitterhetsakademien has a yearbook, Kungl. Vitterhetsakademiens Årsbok, in which it publishes its recent activities, inaugural lectures by newly elected members, and eulogies for late members.

Since 1906, The Academy has published Fornvännen, the leading journal for Swedish antiquarian research. Fornvännen is available digitally via DiVA as a collaboration with the Swedish National Heritage Board and the Swedish National Historical Museums.

Vitterhetsakademien’s library is managed by the Swedish National Heritage Board and its collections belong to both the Swedish National Heritage Board and the Academy. The library has all the Academy´s publications available for loan and interlibrary loan.
